I was kept extremely busy especially when there were 5 Street swimmers in one heat! I would like to thank Jess Hartley and Jane Bowes who helped me record times and chaperone the swimmers when I was on poolside. Well done to all the swimmers, keep up the good work!”

  • Fun Gala

The club held their first friendly gala on Saturday 24th March. Swimmers from Pre-Squad, junior squads and our top competitive squads joined together to compete in teams.

The fun started at 5pm, team captains were Louis Marchione, Dominic Inder-Goode, Megan Chiffers, Georgia Bowes, Ciara Bowes and Oliver Willies. Each produced a fantastic display choosing team names and making posters. The captains showed leadership and enthusiasm, supporting their younger swimmers. There was a great team spirit from all the children.

The atmosphere was electric and the end results where extremely tight with the teams just a few points apart. The final raft relay race was noisy and boisterous, but the children had great fun with younger ones riding while older swimmers pushed. After the final points had been totalled Ciara’s Clownfish where awarded the winning trophy.

Rocky Stone Head Development coach quoted “Fun was had by all and all the children met their own personal achievements – well done to everyone!”

It has been agreed that all entry fees totalling £100 will be donated to Sport Relief.

Thanks to Strode swimming pool for the use of their facilities. Thanks to the coaches for all their hard work to the parent helpers and the committee.
